SSP Budgam reviews functioning of CCTNS project

Budgam : In order to review the status of CCTNS project in district Budgam, SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem chaired a meeting with all CCTNS operators of the district at Conference Hall of District Police Headquarters Budgam.
According to a police statement issued on Thursday SSP while speaking on the occasion said that the CCTNS is a platform which will help in prevention of crime and helps in investigation of crime cases in a desired manner and at a faster pace, besides emphasised upon all CCTNS operators to adhere to the guidelines and instructions passed from time to time in letter and spirit. He also said that FIRs and other details should be updated in the software on real-time basis without any delay.
It’s pertinent to mention that CCTNS (Crime & Criminal Tracking Network System) has been put into public domain from the last few years and all police stations of the district have been connected with Central database. All FIRs, Crime details as well as general diaries and other allied details are uploaded in the Core Application Software (CAS) for the convenience of general public.
Later on, SSP Budgam urged upon the officials that the details with regard to process of investigation should also be uploaded immediately so that a transparent e-policing can be provided to the general public as envisaged under CCTNS project. SSP Budgam admired the efforts put in by CCTNS team Budgam that led to bagging 2nd position at all India level in Cri-mac updation.
Incharge IT/CCTNS DPO Budgam and other officers of the district were also present on the occasion.
