Srinagar/: Dr Burhan Basheer Bazaz along his colleagues at DRDO hospital greet the entire valley on the eve of New Year and pray for a covid free world. A Renowned social activist Dr Burhan Basheer expressed gratitude to those highlighting and praising the efforts made by healthcare workers to counter Covid-19 but has termed it unfortunate that in the one hand everyone is appreciating the efforts on bigger platforms and on the other hand SANTA (Special Allowance Notified to Treat Ailing) has not even shown up on new year.
The Special allowance for healthcare workers for June, July and August 2021 was promised by some of the tall personalities of the govt. but still remains outstanding. It is worth to mention that despite professional binding, it takes enormous courage and efforts to choose work with Covid-19 positive patients and delivering quality care irrespective of the level of threat to ones wellbeing. In this matter the honourable Lieutenant Governer, the Divisional Commissioner, the additional Chief Secretary H & ME deptt. and other concern govt. officials are requested to look into the issue and make our new year happy too by disbursement of outstanding allowances and announcing the regular covid allowance to healthcare workers at designated Covid-19 hospital(DRDO, Khonmoh, Sgr).
