ACB arrests Patwari and his agent in Budgam on Corruption charges

Srinagar| : Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) on Wednesday said that it has arrested Patwari and his agent on corruption charges in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement issued on Wednesday the J&K Anti Corruption Bureau said that it received a complaint alleging therein that Raja Mudasir Ali Khan, Patwari, Halqa Kathwar, Khansahib, Budgam is demanding Rs. 1,00,000/- (one lakh) as bribe for affecting transfer of land in favour of the maternal cousins of the complainant.
“On receipt of the complaint Case FIR No. 38/2021 under section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered in this Bureau and investigation taken up” reads the above referred J&K ACB statement, adding therein that “during the course of investigation a trap team constituted by ACB afterwhich the team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Raja Mudasir Ali Khan, Patwari, Halqa Kathwar, Khansahib, Budgam while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ₹1,00,000/-(₹10,000 cash + ₹90,000 via cheque) from the complainant through agent namely Nawaz Hussain Mir R/o Khanpora Budgam”.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement the J&K ACB said that the bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused in presence of independent witness, stating therein further that the said accused Raja Mudasir Ali Khan along with agent Nawaz Hussain Mir were arrested on spot. The J&K ACB in it’s statement also said tha during the search of personal vehicle of the accused ₹82,000/- (cash) was also recovered and seized and search was also conducted at the house of accused public servant.Further investigation into the case is going on.
