Srinagar: SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar on Friday chaired a Police Public interaction meeting at Police Station Kheerbawani in District Ganderbal.
The interaction meeting was attended by ASP Ganderbal Firoz Yehya, DySP Hqrs Ganderbal, Vice Chairman DDC Ganderbal, BDC Chairman Sherpathri and SHO PS Kheerbawani. Besides, large number of respectable citizens, businessmen and social workers also participated in the interaction meeting.
During the interacting meeting, participants highlighted several issues of public importance being faced by the general public. The chairing officer redressed the several issues on spot and assured the participants that their other genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal said that police is acting strictly against anti-national and anti-social elements especially drug peddlers and miscreants to provide secure and peaceful atmosphere in the district. He appealed general public and civil society members to come forward in identifying such elements so that strict action under law will be initiated against them. SSP Ganderbal also hailed the contribution of the people in maintaining the peace and harmony and highlighted their positive role on various important annual occasions like Mela Kheerbawani and annual amarnath Yatra.
The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinion freely.
