Pulwama police seizes huge consignment of drugs, exposes contraband drugs racket

Pulwama: The Pulwama police have seized a huge consignment of drugs in Prichoo while a special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the case.
According to an official statement following a reliable information a special team headed by Dy SP Headquarters Pulwama S M Shafi, under the directions of SSP Pulwama Ghulam Jeelani Wani, raided one place in Prichoo Pulwama and recovered 13 bottles of NDPS contraband from the possession of one person namely Imran Sheikh.
The statement said that on his (Imran) instant disclosure he revealed that he has a nexus with one more person who was coming to handover one more consignment of NDPS contraband to him.
“Accordingly police team laid naka near Boys Degree college Pulwama and seized one grand i10 vehicle driven by Gowhar Ahmad Najar a resident of Pinglina from whose possession 11 bottles of codeine , 1700 tablets of contrabanded drugs were seized besides cash amounting Rs 80,000,” the statement reads.
“During further investigation two more persons – Aijaz Ahmad Bhat alias Mehdi resident of Pinglina and Javid Ahmad Dar from Tahab Pulwama, have been arrested,” it said.
The police said that further arrests are expected and all links and threads are being analysed minutely to nab the culprits who are involved in the conspiracy.
“Case FIR No 302/2021, U/Secs. 8/21, 22 and 29 of NDPS Act stands lodged at police station Pulwama and a SIT has been constituted to investigate the case thoroughly. SIT shall work under the close Supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Pulwama,” the statement said
