Police seizes 09 tippers for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Budgam; 09 persons arrested

Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Friday said that it has arrested nine persons and also seized nine vehicles for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said that officers from Police Post Soibugh during naka checking at Soibugh market seized 09 tippers bearing registration numbers JK01AG-7570, JK03B-8720, JK03B-8991, JK13C-4104, JK01C-8434, JKO5A-5908, JK05B-8498, JK01AG-4311& Ch. number 21858 for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in district Budgam.
Police in it’s statement further said that it has also arrested 09 drivers of the said vehicles identified as Muzamil Bilal resident of Nasrullahpora, Jahangir Ahmed Ganie resident of Kakanmaran, Asif Farooq resident of Patlibagh, Maqsood Ahmed Dar resident of Nasrullahpora, Samiullah Parray resident of Gariend Kalaaan, Anayat Hussain resident of Batpora, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir resident of Galwanpora, Ajaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohammad Malla resident of Bemina & Ajaz Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Rasool Mir resident of Bemina.
In a concluding para of its above referred statement police said that, a case vide FIR number 331/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been set into motion.
Police in it’s statement also appealed people not to indulge in illegal mining activities as it is the violation of Government rules and warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and adviserd them to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
