Commandant General Homeguards / Civil Defence / SDRF J&K chairs officers meeting

Jammu: A meeting of Jammu based officers of Homeguards / Civil Defence and SDRF was convened by Danesh Rana, ADGP Commandant General Homeguards / Civil Defence and SDRF J&K to review the working preparedness of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF to overcome the challenges/ impact of natural & manmade disasters as and when occurs.
The officers were directed to keep their manpower rescue teams in readiness to deal with the flash floods/ landslides particularly during the current winter season and to work in close cooperation with Civil and Police administration.
The Commandant General stressed upon all the officers to put their vigorous effort to make the organization vibrant and visible. The Commandant General reviewed the working and functioning of voluntary Homeguards and stressed to utilize their services as per the mandate. The working of Civil Defence wardens & volunteers was also reviewed.
Directions were given to conduct awareness programmes, training sessions of Civil Defence wardens and volunteers so that their services are utilized at the time of eventuality / urgency. In addition to it, proposals regarding capacity building measures of SDRF, CD and HG in J&K were also discussed and directions were given to the concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by Vikas Gupta, Director Homeguards Jammu, Nisha Nathyal, Commandant SDRF 2nd BN. Randhir Singh, SSP. SO (Trainings). G.L. Sharma SSP. SO (Admn.), Rajesh Sharma, Dy SP Arca Commandant Homeguards Jammu, Anita Pawar, Dy SP Dy. Controller CD Jammu and Aijaz Ali. Dy SP PS to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K.
