Vigilance Awareness Week: ACB organises Seminars, other interactive progr at various locations

Srinagar: The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated from 26th October to 1st November 2021 with the theme of “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity”. Anti Corruption Bureau, J&K is organizing series of events during the week to spread awareness and promote Vigilance. The awareness campaign is being observed to mark the respect to Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth anniversary on October 31st.
During the ongoing vigilance awareness week a webinar was organized by Directorate of Anti Corruption with the Directorates of School Education Deptt Jammu and Kashmir. The webinar was attended by about 50 officers. A presentation on the working and scope of ACB was given by Shoaib Mohammad Bhat during the webinar who hosted the webinar. Emphasis was laid on various forms of corruption prevalent in society and also the legal provisions dealing with bringing about justice. Another important aspect of the webinar was the potential of preventive measures needed to be taken proactively to counter the menace of corruption. He focused on the role of academic community to counter the menace of corruption and also sensitizing other staff and students . One of the features of the webinar was attempting to make ACB more accessible to whistleblowers through the use of website, whatsapp helpline and toll free numbers. Emphasis was also laid over the role of DVOs in various offices for increased transparency and use of technology for reduction in corruption.
Sahil Sarangal, SSP ACB Srinagar organized a webinar. The webinar was attended by Principal, faculty members and students of Amar Singh College Srinagar, S.P College Srinagar, Govt. College of Education, Srinagar and Delhi Public School Budgam. A brief presentation on definition of Corruption, impact of corruption; ways to curb corruption and History/working of Anti Corruption Bureau J&K was also given by SSP during the webinar. The faculty members along with students of colleges and schools pledged to sensitise the society to curb the incidence of corruption. Mohd. Aftab Mir, SSP ACB Anantnag presented a program highlighting the importance of weeklong activities in connection with the vigilance awareness week on Doordarshan. The program was telecasted by DD Srinagar.
