Police Commemoration Week: Painting competition, Open Air Concert prog, Cultural Progs , Volleyball tournament organized

Srinagar: As a part of ongoing Police Commemoration Week, Police have organised different programmes across the Kashmir valley including open air concert in Kupwara, painting competition in Shopian, cultural programmes in Pulwama & PD Handwara and Volleyball Tournament in Ganderbal.
In Kupwara, an open air concert programme was organised at DPL Kupwara. On the occasion, ASP Kupwara Pradeep Singh, DySP DAR Kupwara and other senior officers of Police, artists & locals of the area were also present. The scintillating performances on patriotic songs by various artists kept the audiences glued to their chairs and each event received overwhelming response from the audience. The rhythm of ‘Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jawa song made the scene ecstatic. While addressing participants, ASP Kupwara paid rich tributes to the martyrs and deliberated on the importance of such events. The participants were felicitated with awards.
In Handwara, a cultural programme was organized at DPL Handwara to provide a platform to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists. The event was inaugurated by ASP Handwara Mashkoor Ahmad and attended by students of various schools. Besides other senior officers from CRPF, SSB and locals especially youth of Handwara were also present on the occasion. The cultural programme event included cultural activities viz, singing, dancing etc. for the participants with no age bar. One minute silence was also observed to remember the courage and valour of our brave martyrs who have laid their lives for the unity and integrity of the nation as well as in protecting the life and property of the people. Moreover, the participants were awarded with cash prizes and trophies by the Chief Guest Chairman MC Handwara Masroor Ahmad Banday, ASP Handwara and DySP DAR Handwara.
Similarly, Police in Pulwama, organized a cultural programme at DPL Pulwama and the event was inaugurated by DySP DAR Qazi Shams-JKPS under the chairmanship of SSP Pulwama Gh Jeelani Wani. On the occasion, DC Pulwama Baseer-ul-Haq Choudary was the chief guest of the event. Besides COs CRPF 182 & 183 Bn, other senior officers as well as locals of the area were also present. The main aim of such programme is to move a step further towards the betterment of society to provide a platform to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists by show casing their talent. The cultural programme includes the cultural activities viz. singing patriotic songs, dancing etc. The dazzling performances by various artists from Pulwama kept the audiences glued to their chairs. At the conclusion of the function, the participants were facilitated with cash prizes/awards.
Moreover, Police in Shopian organised a painting competition at DPL Shopian in which students from different schools of the district participated. The main aim behind holding such a programme is to move a step further towards the betterment of society for creating the general awareness among the people and to provide a platform to the young, budding and enthusiastic artists by showcasing their talent. The participants were felicitated with cash reward and trophies.
In Ganderbal, Police have organised “Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball Tournament” at DPL Ganderbal in which various Volleyball teams of District Ganderbal viz. Gutlibagh Volleyball Club, Rise volleyball Club Safapora, Dab Volleyball Club and Ganderbal Volleyball Club took part. In the final match, Gutlibagh Volleyball Club defeated Rise Volleyball Club Safapora and won the grand finale of the tournament. The trophies and cash reward was distributed among the winner and runner up teams.
The valedictory function was attended by SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar accompanied by ASP Ganderbal, DySP DAR, DySP Hqrs and other senior officers of Police. SSP Ganderbal in his address appreciated all the teams for taking part in the sports event. He also stressed upon the young players of the District to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports.
