Literary function in remembrance of Late Dr Aziz Hajni held at Hajin

3 Books, Musical Album Released

Srinagar: To highlight the literary contributions of renowned Kashmiri writer, scholar, critic, playwright former Secretary of J&K Academy Of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Aziz Hajini who recently left for the heavenly abode, Halqa Adab Sonawari and Wahab Cultural Society Hajin Tuesday organised a literary function jointly here in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

During the function, three books titled ” Yee Ha Mye Wane Aaw” compiled by late Hajin’s daughter Asmat Hajini. Aziz Hajni – The Man and The Mission” jointly compiled by Irshad ul Islam and Azhar Hajini and “Aziz Hajni The Indelible” compiled by Hajin’s two sons Azhar Hajini and Aamir Hajini were released by the well known personalities.

The event was presided over by renowned writer and academician Prof. Mohammad Zaman Azurdah while as prolific writer Ghulam Nabi Atash, President of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Mohammad Amin Butt,
Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Athar Amir Khan and Dr Hajni’s son who is also Media Secretary of Halq e Adab Sonawari Azhar Hajni was also present in the presidium.

Shabbir Maqbool started the function by reciting the verses of Holy Quran after which Sajjad Rasheed recited the famous Naat of late Prof Hajni in his mesmerizing voice.

Prof. Dr Farooq Fayaz highlighted various aspects of Prof Aziz Hajni’s life and highlighted his personality by highlighting different aspects of his life.

A music album based on the 9 selected Kashmiri poems of Dr Hajini and composed by famous music maestro Kishan Langoo was also released in the impressive function. The musical arrangement has been made by Raja Bilal. Prof. Shad Ramzan, Mushtaq Ahmad Tantray, Ayash Arif, Shiekh Aijaz and Aijaz Ahmed Kakro paid homage to Aziz Hajni in wonderful words.

Ghulam Nabi Atash in his speech threw light on his long association with Dr. Aziz Hajni and paid homage to him. Mohammad Amin Butt refreshed his old memories He described Aziz Hajni as a great linguistic, scholarly and literary figure. Prof. Azarda described Aziz Hajni as a true son of Kashmir and called him a great personality. At the end, Azhar Hajni thanked all the guests and institutions. Dr Riyaz ul Hassan conducted proceedings of the the session.

In the second session of the ceremony, the poets paid homage to the late Hajni. Akhtar Mansoor presided over the poetry recital while Sana-Ullah Niaz was also in the Presidium. The event was sponsored by Adbee Markaz Kamraz with the support from Municipal Committee Hajin (MCH).
