Srinagar: Under the banner of “Police Martyr’s Memorial Festival” police on Monday organized a painting competition at District Police Lines Pulwama. Besides, debate competition was organised by Police in Kupwara at Middle school Bumhama.
In Pulwama, Painting competition was hosted by DySP DAR Pulwama Qazi Shams, besides, other senior officers and teachers were also present on the occasion. Various schools across the District Pulwama participated in the event. The competition was held between two age groups Junior Category (below 14 years) and Senior Category (above 14 years) for both boys and girls. The winners and runner up of the competition were appreciated and honoured with trophies, besides, prizes/participation certificates were also distributed among the participants.
While addressing on the occasion, DySP DAR appreciated the success and intelligence of students. He stressed upon the young budding artists of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of art.
Similarly, Police in Kupwara organised a debate competition at Middle School Bumhama. SSP Kupwara Yougal Kumar Manhas on the occasion highlighted the contribution of Police martyrs and sacrifice of Martyr Abdul Rashid Khan of the area in particular who laid their lives in the service of nation.
In the debate competition, around 100 students of different schools participated who presented their views on the topic ‘Role of Police in nation building’. The participants were awarded with prizes on the occasion by the chief guest.
