Meghwal conducts public interaction prog at Udhampur; inaugurates developmental works

Udhamur: As a part of the public outreach programme launched by the Central Government for J&K, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal Wednesday conducted an exhaustive public outreach programme at Udhampur.
The Union Minister inaugurated various developmental works and projects and also listened to the grievances of various delegations and assured prompt redressal of the demands of the people on priority basis.
The Union Minister laid foundation stone of various projects, released funds for financial assistance and scholarship of registered construction workers and also distributed Mamta kits under BBBP, Sports Kits under Khelo India, Sehat cards under Ayushmann Bharat Scheme, Soil health cards and KCC among the beneficiaries.
Shri Meghwal reviewed the progress on ground about the various ongoing developmental projects and schemes in the district launched by the GOI. The Union Minister also interacted with members of different delegations and took part in plantation drivewhich he termed as an integral part of conserving environment and protecting nature.
While addressing the gathering, the Union Minister expressed satisfaction over implementation of several government schemes in the district. He appreciated the efforts of district administration as well as various departments for effective implementation of government schemes in the district. He said that Government is committed to develop J&K and numerous innovative steps are being initiated in this regard which are yielding positive results.
Shri Meghwal said that road connectivity is the basic requirement for growth and development of an area and Central Government is working hard to establish a strong road network in J&K. He called upon the officers to make dedicated efforts towards taking the benefits of all government schemes to the targeted sections of the society.
“Government is determined to provide enhanced basic facilities to people of the area at their doorsteps” he affirmed while emphasizing the need of strong coordination between the administration and the people for effective implementation of various welfare and development programmes. He urged public to come forward to avail the maximum benefits of various schemes.
Appreciating the natural landscape of the area, Shri Meghwal stressed that efforts would be made to fully harness the tourism potential of the area. He added that every possible effort would be made to boost the pilgrimage tourism which will give rise to the influx of tourists thereby enhancing the economic activity in the area.
