Srinagar Mayor reviews Muhharam arrangements, also visits Vecharnag Mandir

Srinagar: Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu on Saturday visited Vecharnag Mandir at Nowshera Srinagar. He was accompanied by Corporator Jameela, Chief Enforcement Officer, Chief Sanitation Officer SMC Asstt. Ex. Engineer, Jal Shakhti and other officers of SMC.
At site Mayor Mattu met the management of the Vecharnag Temple and the inhabitants of the area to hear their grievances. The Mayor passed on spot directions to the concerned officers to redress the grievances at an earliest. Mattu also directed the Chief Sanitation officer SMC to conduct an extensive Sanitation drive in order to clean the Pond (Mukhta Pukhr) and the surrounding area of the temple. The Chief Enforcement Officer SMC was also directed to remove illegal encroachments in the area. Mattu also passed the directions to the works wing for upgradation of the temple on various fronts. He also directed the concerned to redress the grievances with regard to drinking water facility. He also visited Zadibal and its adjoining areas to take stock of Muharram arrangements and to inaugurate CT/PTs at Khushal Sar, Madin Sahib Hawal and Mohalla Syed Afzal Shri Bhat Zadibal. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Parvez Qadri , Corporator Tanveer Hussain Pathan, and other senior officers.
On the occasion ZMO was directed to organise Health Camp with the availability of Medical staff round the clock during Muharram. Chief Sanitation Officer SMC on the occasion was directed to provide proper Sanitation in the area during Muharram days. Directions were also passed to Water Works Department for providing of drinking water tanker on the occasion. Mattu also directed PDD to provide 24×7 power supply during the month of Muharram and also go for repairing of defunct wires and poles. CTPTs/Public Toilet Blocks at Khushalsar, Madin Sahib Zadibal and Mohalla syed Afzal, Shri Bhat were also inaugurated by Mayor. Besides this he met several delegations from the area who put forth Several demands before Mayor to which he assured earlier redressal of their grievances.
