Arrangements for I-Day celebration reviewed at Shopian

Shopian: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Monday convened a meeting at Mini Secretariat Arhama here to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of Independence Day Celebrations in the district.
On the occasion, a thorough discussion regarding the seating arrangements as per Covid-19 protocol, Shahnai Wadan, presentation of cultural programmes, parade, security arrangement and award presentation was held.
It was given out in the meeting that the main function will be held at District Police Lines Shopian, and on the occasion the march past will be presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Fire and Emergency Services and Forest Protection Forces.
The DDC directed the officials to ensure adequate security arrangements, illumination of Govt Buildings, parking facilities and proper seating arrangements at the venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.
He directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in advance and coordinate with each other for the smooth conduct of Independence day function.
He also directed the Health department to set up an adequate number of medical camps with proper staff, ambulance and Medicare facilities at the venues besides the officials of Municipal Corporation were directed to maintain cleanliness in and around District Police Lines, roads, and streets in the town.
It was also decided that the celebration of Independence Day shall also be held at Sub-Divisional Level, and in this regard the concerned were directed to ensure celebration of the event at their respective headquarters and take necessary steps to make the programme successful.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Zainapora, Chief Education Officer, DYSSO, AD Planning, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD and Irrigation besides all District and Sectoral Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.It was also decided that a full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13th 2021 at DPL Shopian.
