Baramulla:: : Briefing about the latest position of COVID-19 pandemic in the district, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar Thursday informed that positivity rate in the district has drastically reduced to mere 1.8% whereas recovery rate jumped to 97%. He said that this is a remarkable performance recorded by the district which could become possible through active public cooperation and the hardwork with which our frontline workers launched a battle against the pandemic.
Expressing gratitude to the people, the DC said that following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour is the only Potent Tool which can break the chain of virus. He appealed the public to avoid large gathering and maintain social distancing for averting exigencies. The DC said that by adopting such preventive measures, we will be able to completely relax the weekend restrictions which are in place as a precautionary measure.
Bhupinder Kumar further informed that over 87% of the eligible beneficiaries, falling in the age group of 45+ have been vaccinated and hoped that the people will further cooperate with the administrative functionaries while carrying out the mass vaccination campaign that has been launched to get rid from the virus.
Briefing about several welfare measures that were taken to provide financial assistance especially to those children who were affected by the pandemic, the DC said that under SAKSHAM scheme, eligible beneficiaries are being identified for which district task force was constituted.
