There is no doubt in the fact that we live in such an era where technology plays a vital role in shaping the careers of our children. The digitalization has changed the outlook of our society and the new innovative gadgets have replaced the conventional methodologies. In other words, we can say that our present generation seems to be the most intellectual souls on the planet earth comparing the former generations. This has happened due to the invention of various sophisticated technologies and gadgets. The living aspects of people have drastically changed which results in achieving new targets and goals. Every sector whether business, education, trade and commerce etc. succeed in achieving ultimate goals. This has happened only due to the use of unlimited technologies in the modern era. While as the education sector has also changed due to the use of internet digital services. The conventional methods of education has replaced by new methods and forms, influenced by internet services. In this way, we have discovered online education for our children. What are impacts of online education on the mental health of our children? It is a million dollar question and we need to think over it rationally. Literally speaking, if internet has provided our children with tens of knowledge. But at the same time, it has also snatched the peace of mind to our future generations. Our children who is considered the future generation of our nation is engulfed with frustrations due to the excessive use of internet and online classes. It is worth to mention here that due to covid-19 pandemic, the education sector has hit badly. The actual classes where teaching and learning took place socially has barred. Thus innovations in education sector has taken place which we called online education. Online education has barred our children from the actual and real sense of learning and teaching. It ha not only destroyed their physical health but also mental health. The effects of online education on the mental setup of our children is very destructive and catastrophic. If it has to be continue like this way in future also, we will witness insane generation very soon. Both Mental as well as physical health plays a great role in learning and teaching. When both is being tortured by any means of technology. The human catastrophe takes place. Same is the case with the online system of education. Many great psychologists have stated that online education is very dangerous for the mental health of our children.
Psychologically speaking, when any behaviour seems to suffer with some sort of frustrating process. The mental disturbance took place resulting in weak mental health. In other words, let me quote a famous adverb, which states as, “sound body leads sound mental health”. But unfortunately, both is being effected by the internet online classes. Online classes have barred our children from playing physical games , co-curricular activities as well as other cultural activities. This has created a huge whole of destruction and limitations in their mental makeup. Scientifically speaking, internet penetrates the harmful rays which is extremely harmful to human beings. Doctors say that when learning and teaching takes place online for more than 1 or 2 hours, effects badly our brain, ears and other vital body parts. Thus disturbing our children both mentally as well as physically. There is also a great limitation in online education i.e, children are not actively interacted with their fellow buddy pairs. Thus they are not able to socialise properly.
In this context, we can say that education is a complete process. By taking away any part or process of it, the impacts will be disastrous on the mental health of our children. There is also a greater negative impacts of online education. It creates phobia, headache and self esteem in our children, disturbs their peace of mind. One of the catastrophic use of internet is phonography. When children’s are given freedom or complete access to use such technology. There are various chances of using it in inappropriate way which leads to a psycho stress and depression among children. Sometimes, the use of internet by our children involves at exploring obscene websites which also breakdown their mental abilities. While on the other hand, there are various chances for them indulging in sexual solicitation, alcohol and drugs. Thus their mental health shall suffer forever. Mental health plays an important role for the development of our children. Using such medium is very important but not at the cost of mental breakdown. The stress and depression level in our children have increased immensely due to the over use of internet services. Let it be online classes or it’s other uses. Let me conclude by saying that the technologies have good effects as well as bad effects on us. It matters on how we can use them. Especially, when medium of technology like internet is used by our children. There must be proper supervision by our elders. In short, we can say the use of online education or online internet classes should be limited and their excessive use may be avoided by our children so as to avoid mental health breakdown.
