Srinagar: The residents of Shutrashahi area of Srinagar here have alleged that despite sealing a commercial building by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the business activities continue from the structure.
Locals said that the residents brought the attention of the concerned authorities after commercial activities were recorded from a building within the locality.
“However, the authorities swung into action and sealed the building on June 17 for violating the norms. Despite sealing the building, there is no end to the commercial activities at the place as some of the doors of the structure have not been sealed,” the locals said.
They added that the heavy motor vehicles which ply within the locality due to the commercial activities at the building is jeopardizing the lives of children in the locality thus prompting them to seek an intervention from the concerned authorities.
They once again appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter and ensure that the commercial activities in the residential area are banned forthwith
