Srinagar: In order to combat the Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, Chinar Corps of Indian army on Saturday dedicated a 50-bedded hospital to people in Kashmir.
An official said that to combat the rapid surge of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir and to prepare for the anticipated third wave, the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps on Saturday dedicated a 50 bed COVID-19 facility to the people of Kashmir.
Officials said that the facility adds to the government capacity to handle COVID patients.
The COVID facility established at 216 transit camp at Batwara was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammed Aijaz Asad on Friday. The facility has 10 ICU beds with ventilator support, 20 high dependency unit beds with oxygen support and 20 oxygen beds.
The facility also has facilities such as a laboratory, radiology department and blood gas analyzer for efficient management of patients.
On the occasion Brigadier CG Muralidharan said that the Army will provide round the clock dedicated doctors, military nurses and paramedical staff from 92 Base hospital.
The other officials on the occasion assured all possible assistance by the army to the people of the Valley and also to the government to fight the battle against COVID-19.
They said that there is a need for a joint effort to tackle the pandemic.
District Magistrate Srinagar Aijaz Asad speaking on the occasion said that this facility will definitely help the administration in combating Covid-19.
Asad said along with the army every agency has played their role in fighting the deadly pandemic.
While thanking the army for their efforts, Asad said that the health department is also involved in the set up of the hospital
