Srinagar police establishes ‘digital library’ at specially abled school Rambagh

Srinagar: Srinagar Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme established a “DIGITAL LIBRARY” at School for specially-abled children at Rambagh Srinagar. The event was organized while following SOPs and other protocols.
Srinagar police handed over the electronic gadgets including laptops etc, required for establishment of Digital Library to Principal specially-abled school Rambagh, Srinagar. The event was witnessed by SP City South Srinagar, SDPO Shaheed Gunj Srinagar and staff members of the school.
On the occasion, SP City South Srinagar expressed that COVID-19 pandemic has led to disruptions in normal life, including closure of schools and libraries which have caused loss of learning activities. He said that by using the electronic gadgets, the institution can share library and text books to the students without using physical contact and can get all information regarding the current affairs of the world. Besides, the students can read all kinds of books at their respective dwellings.
Srinagar Mayor reviews arrangements for setting up three wellness centres in Srinagar
Srinagar: Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo on Thursday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements regarding setting up of three covid wellness centres which will act as emergency centres to three designated hospitals of Srinagar. The meeting was attended by Commissioner, SMC, Joint Commissioner, SMC, Joint Commissioner Works, FA/Chief Accounts Officer, Deputy Director Planning, Nodal Officer and others.
Mattu while expressing concern over the prevailing situation pandemic said that these wellness centres which will be level II Covid Care facility to manage mildly ill patients, directly monitored and managed by the designated covid hospitals has to be fully equipped with PPE Kits, Oxygen Concentrators and Oxygen Cylinders for the wellness centre. During the course of meeting various measures/ steps to be taken for providing of At least 150 bed units with adequate facility including oxygen concentrators, drip sets and other necessary facility to provide Beds with accessories, Sanitization / Cleaning at Wellness Centres were disscussed at length. Besides a full fledged Paramedical staff , Doctors and ancillary staff for the wellness centres has to be put in place. It was informed in the meeting that the services of the volunteers will also be roped in shift wise. SMC has earlier decided to provide space for the wellness centres at identified community Halls at Rathpora Khanyar,, Nalband Noushera, Babadem and under its jurisdiction. Mayor Srinagar along with Commissioner SMC and the concerned officers later visited all the three community centres that will be converted into Covid Wellness centres to review the arrangements on account of sanitation, water supply, electricity and other neccessary facilities. During the visit Mattu passed instructions for having Proper infrastructure, clean surroundings round the clock staffing in place. Mattu also visited Community hall at Illahi bagh and decided to utilize it as as Covid Welness centre .
