Bandipora: As many as seven illegal clinics have been sealed during raids in the North district of Bandipora district, an official said on Saturday.
A team of officials from the health department raided ultrasonography and other imaging clinics in the Bandipora, which were found without government registration or being operated by unqualified doctors. “Seven diagnostic centres were sealed on the spot after it was found that they were not registered with the competent authorities,” an official said.
Earlier Chief Medical Officer Bandipora had constituted a team headed by Block Medical Officer Bandipora, to inspect the clinics to identify the illegally operated clinics.
The BMO said the clinics run by unregistered and untrained technicians is a serious issue and that all such clinics will have to be closed. He said the district administration on the directions of the concerned Deputy Commissioner Bandipora has constituted special flying squads to check the operations of illegal clinics in the district.
So far in the drive against illegal clinics in the block, 07 such clinics, including 2 USG clinics, 3 clinical laboratories and 02 x-ray clinic, have been sealed at Bandipora block. As per officials, the labs that were sealed by the officials, were not registered under the Clinical Establishment Act.
