DDC monitors Snow clearance operations at Shopian

Shopian: In view of the inclement weather and heavy snowfall, District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin monday visited various areas of the district to monitor the snow clearance operations besides ensuring availability of essential commodities like ration, medicines, LPG etc in the district.
The DDC on the occasion visited District Hospital and took stock of availability of medicines, power supply and heating arrangements there. He also interacted with the patients and their attendants and enquired about the facilities provided by the government.
He directed the health officials to ensure quality health care facilities and heating arrangements to the patients.
He also informed that snow has been cleared off the majority of the roads including those in leading to Srinagar and Bijbehara etc, besides, control rooms in district headquarter and in subdivision are also operational to address the emergency demands of the public.

The DDC said that each and every route will be cleared in due time as per plan and priority.
Moreover, the SDM, Tehsildars, officials of Municipal Committee and other line departments have been directed to remain stationed at their locations and ensure prompt delivery of essential items and services to the public and to address their emergency demands with utmost preparedness.
The DDC later visited the workshop of KPDCL to take stock of the repairment of transformers.
