Director ULB Jammu reviews progress of development projects, civic services in Hiranagar, Parole

Jammu : Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu Kapil Sharma conducted a field visit to Municipal Committee Hiranagar and Municipal Committee Parole to review the progress of major development projects, municipal infrastructure, sanitation and solid waste management facilities.

During the visit to MC Hiranagar, the Director inspected the upcoming Shopping Complex, Community Hall and Smart Library. He reviewed the physical progress and status of these assets and directed for speedy completion and optimum utilization for public benefit.

The Director also inspected the site at Hiranagar where a substantial quantity of legacy waste has accumulated. He directed the Executive Officer to closely monitor the work being undertaken by the agency engaged for remediation and clearance and ensure that the work is expedited and completed at the earliest. He also reviewed progress of the ongoing CAPEX works in the MC.

At MC Parole, the Director inspected various ongoing development works and reviewed the municipal infrastructure and civic facilities available in the town. He directed the Executive Officer and field staff to accelerate the pace of ongoing works and ensure their timely completion.

The Director also inspected the infrastructure identified for the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre. He directed the Executive Officer to ensure proper cleaning and upkeep of the premises and take steps for early operationalization of the ABC Centre.

The MRF Plant at Parole was also inspected. The Director  reviewed its present status and directed the Executive Officer to make the facility fully functional and effectively utilized for proper segregation and scientific management of municipal solid waste.

The Director further inspected the New Bus Stand at Parole and reviewed the facilities available there. He directed the Executive Officer to initiate the process for auction/allotment of shops in a transparent and time-bound manner, so that the facility is put to optimum use and contributes towards generation of revenue for the Municipal Committee.
