ACB produces charge sheet against Ex TSO, CAPD Samba in misappropriation of govt ration

Jammu: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has produced a chargesheet against Jagish Singh Jamwal, a former Tehsil Supplies Officer(TSO) of the Consumer Affairs & Publlic Distribution department Samba and others in misappropriation of gvernment ration.
In a statement issued on Thursday the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) said that it has presented the chargesheet in case FIR No. 24/2011 U/S 5 (1) (c), 5(1)d r/w 5 (2) J&K PC Act 2006 and Section 409, 467, 468, 471 &120-B RPC P/S VOJ (now ACB) against Kulbir Singh, then TSO, Samba (now retired) S/o Gunwant Singh R/o Village Suchani, Teshil & District Samba and Dharam Paul, then Storekeeper, CAPD, Samba (now retired) S/o Dewan Chand R/o Nagri Parole, Tehsil & District Kathua and three expired TSOs namely Jagish Singh Jamwal, Amarjeet Singh and Kaka Ram.
Stating that the instant case was registered on the basis of a verification which was conducted into the allegations of misappropriation of APL food grains by the storekeeper CA&PD Samba Shri Jagish Singh Jamwal, the ACB in it’s statement said “the verification revealed that the said Jagish Singh Jamwal was holding the charge of TSO Samba and had misappropriated total 1465 qtls subsidized Govt. ration under APL category by showing fraudulent disbursement of said ration”. The ACB in it’s statement also said “an amount of Rs. 81911/- on account of carriage/commission on the same quantity was also drawn and misappropriated by Incharge TSO/Storekeeper resulting to registration of a case FIR No. 24/2011 U/S 5 (1) (c), 5(1)d r/w 5 (2) J&K PC Act 2006 and Section 409, 467, 468, 471 &120-B RPC P/S VOJ (now ACB)”.
Further more the ACB in it’s statement said “during the course of investigation the statements of the dealers and other witnesses were recorded, adding that “it was established that subsidized Govt.ration under APL, BPL & AAY categories was misappropriated total 53472 Qtls of Govt. Ration and loss of ₹ 04.00 Crores to the state exchequer by preparation/manipulation of records and by showing fraudulent disbursement of the quantity to confer undue benefit upon themselves, during the tenure of Kaka Ram, TSO, Jagish Singh Jamwal, I/c TSO/Storekeeper, Kulbir Singh, TSO, Amarjeet Singh, TSO and Dharam Paul, Storekeeper, CAPD, Samba”.
Saying that after thorough investigation ACB presented the chargesheet of the case as envisaged U/S 173 Cr.PC against the above said accused persons in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu, the ACB in it’s statement said that the next date of hearing has been fixed on 26.12.2020.
