Srinagar/Nov,25: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF)Ab Qayoom Wani on Wednesday voiced his serious concern over a tough and tedious question paper for Science subject the examination of which was conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (J&K BOSE) on Tuesday this week.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Wani said that authorities at Board of School Education Kashmir should seriously deal with this sensitive issue concerning matric examination of the science subject as otherwise negligence of the J&K BOSE authorities would hit the sentiments of thousand of students and also their future.
He alleged that by setting a tough question paper for Science subject the BOSE authorities have increased the trouble and mental agony of students who were already rambling in a fix amid the pandemic lockdown. He reminded thay prior to COVID-19 lockdown, the lock down imposed in Jammu and Kashmir since August 5, 2019 in view of scrapping of article 370 and 35 A led to the closure of educational institutions and the blockade of internet which posed a severe setback to the whole education system particularly the schooling and the availability of the syllabus.
Wani said BOSE took the appreciable steps previously by promoting students to proceeding classes whose exams were in deadlock due to COVID 19 lockdown, thereby saving the precious time of the future generations but now when the exams are going on and students were already in a dilemma for not having completed the substantial amount of courses a question paper was put up asked in an unexpected and informal way that does not meet the proclaimed standards of the BOSE itself. Saying the such a measure can obviously result into mental agony of the students who took the examination, the JK CSF Chief said this act is not pardonable in a situation where even online teaching has failed at 2g mobile internet speed .
Saying that it is moral responsibility of the BOSE to apologize to the society in general Wani demanded immediate announcement for immediate remedial measures , so that parents, students and others concerned about the examination get a sigh of relief. He appealed the Chairman BOSE and Director academics to personally look into the matter and redress the genuine grievances of students.
