Javed Beigh visit gutted “Apna Ghar” at Beerwah, consoles inmates

Srinagar: Javed Ahmed Beigh, the DDC candidates from Beerwah took toured extensively Beerwah after an accidental fire gutted “Apna Ghar”, a well known orphanage that houses child victims of three-decade old Kashmir violence. He met HamidullahHamid, the chairman of “Apna Ghar” and extended his sympathy on this tragic incident. He also met young inmates of Apna Ghar and consoled them. He expressed his sadness and anguish over the tragic fire incident, which has rendered many poor orphans homeless in the chilly month of winter. He assured the chairman and inmates of Apna Ghar of his help and said that he would talk to the concerned government authorities and seek interim relief to the inmates of Apna Ghar.

Beigh also met many delegations of the civil society of Beerwah and assured that their grievances would be brought to the notice of concerned authorities , especially the areas complaining acute power shortage and poor road connectivity. He also took stock of the ongoing and pending development works going on in the area. Beigh later visited the home of the bereaved family of late Abdul Rashid Najar, who recently died in an accident while working a private construction site in the area. He met the family of Abdul Rashid Najar including his widow and three children and consoled them . He assured them of his help in arranging financial assistance for the family. He also went to Gundipora village and consoled the family of Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, who recently passed away.

Later inthe day, he met youth delegations frome Gundipora and Sonapah village and interacted with them. He explained to them significance of the upcoming DDC elections and urged them to take part in these elections and be more politically proactive in local governance of their villages and district. He said that in the absence of youth participation, the old, corrupt and discredited elite will once again be at the helm of affairs.
