Kulgam Police solves murder case; accused arrested

Bandipora: Police in Kulgam solved a murder case and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime after carrying out investigation in a professional manner.
On Tuesday , Police Station Kulgam received information through reliable sources that a lady namely Mehmooda wife of Muzaffer Ahmad Najar resident of Shurat has been assaulted at her native village and was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment.
Acting promptly, police party headed by DySP Hqrs Kulgam and SHO Kulgam rushed to District Hospital Kulgam where officers were informed that she was brought dead.
Taking cognizance of the case, a Special Investigating Team (SIT) under the supervision of SP Kulgam Gurinderpal Singh headed by Dy SP Hqrs Kulgam was constituted and consequently, a case with FIR No. 203/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated.
Investigating officers immediately rushed to the scene of crime and seized the weapon of offence. After completion of all medico legal formalities, the dead body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs. Officers have also arrested the accused person involved in the crime who has been identified as Ishfaq Manzoor Bohru son of Manzoor Ahmad Bohru resident of Shurat Kulgam.
Further investigation into the matter is going on. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
