LG, his Advisors, CS greet people on Mahanavami, Dussehra

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha Saturday extended his warm greetings on the occasion of Mahanavami and Dussehra to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
In his message, the Lt Governor has prayed for peace, prosperity and development in the Union Territory.
‘Mahanavami marks the end of the 9-day Navratra festival and the devotees are filled with renewed energy and enthusiasm in their lives. I pray that with the divine blessings, may we all steer ahead the task of overhauling Jammu & Kashmir for our future generations’, observed the Lt Governor.
Highlighting the significance of Dussehra, the Lt Governor said that the day marks the victory of good over evil. He said that the day gives us hope that the most powerful woes could be defeated with determination and a positive outlook.
“May we all achieve victory over evils, both internal as well as worldly, and move towards a better world,” he prayed.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
In his message, the Advisor said that this festival is celebrated as a victory of good over evil, truth over untruth and inspires us to adopt the principles of honesty, truthfulness and righteousness in our lives.
The Advisor added that we should resolve ourselves to celebrate the power of light over darkness, binding all communities in the true sense of brotherhood and motivating us to make renewed efforts for unity and progress of entire Jammu and Kashmir. “Let us keep our spirits high, by taking the right precautions in the fight against COVID-19 while celebrating this auspicious festival”, he added.
The Advisor prayed for peace and prosperity of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Advisor to Lt. Governor, K. K. Sharma also extended Mahanavami and Dussehra greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his message, the Advisor described Dussehra as an occasion to mark and celebrate the victory of good over bad. He said the festival signifies that virtue always prevails over the distorted tendencies.
While highlighting the importance of Mahanavami, the Advisor said that the occasion marks the culmination of Navratri festivities. The Navratras signifies inculcation of spiritual and mythological ethos among the people by living together with love and peace. The festival is being celebrated throughout the country and people observe fast during the sacred days. People worship Goddess Durga, who showers her blessings on her devotees for ensuring well being.
The Advisor further hoped that the occasions would usher an era of peace and prosperity in the State, besides opening new vistas of thought, expansion of mind and cultivation of a humane temperament and global values in everyone. He also hoped that these festivals would strengthen our resolve to fight against the global pandemic of COVID-19.
The Advisor further appealed the people to follow all the SOPs put in place for COVID 19 while celebrating the festivals.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, also extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
In his message, Advisor Bhatnagar said, “Dussehra is a pious and principled path exemplified by the life and deeds of Lord Rama. It also honours Goddess Durga’s battle against Mahishasura, fighting the evil forces”.
The Advisor maintained that we should resolve ourselves to celebrate the power of light over darkness, binding all communities in the true sense of brotherhood and motivating us to make renewed efforts for unity and progress of entire Jammu and Kashmir. He added that let us keep our spirits high, by taking the right precautions in the fight against COVID-19 while celebrating this auspicious festival.
The Advisor also prayed for peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan also felicitated the people on the festival of Dussehra and hoped that the auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his message of greetings, the Advisor said that the festival symbolize the triumph of virtue and righteousness over evil and darkness.
He observed that the festival is a glorious heritage of our pluralistic traditions, which further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity.
On this occasion, Advisor Khan prayed for the well-being of the people of J&K.
Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Dussehra.
In his message on the eve of Dussehra, the Chief Secretary said that this festival is a celebration of victory of good over evil, truth over untruth and inspires us to adopt the principles of honesty, truthfulness, and righteousness in our lives.
The Chief Secretary hoped that the festival further strengthens the bond of brotherhood, and urged people to abide by the COVID appropriate behaviour during the festivities
