Srinagar: After reinstatement of a medical officer interestingly nephew of incumbent CMO Budgam and his posting on the recommendation of a religious body, the Government has directed Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Sameer Matoo to probe charges of sectarian bias against Chief Medical Officer Budgam in the transfers of medical officers in the district. Interestingly the Medical Officer transferred by the Chief Medical Officer Budgam on the DO letter of a religious body “Jaffery Youth Welfare Committee Jowharpira Narbal Budgam” is his own nephew and henceforth the man from his own community.
Confirming the Government’s decision the Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education Attal Daloo in an exclusive telephonic conversation told Kashmir Horizon “we have taken a strong view of the complaints in the cases of transfers against Chief Medical Officer Budgam and directed Health Services Kashmir to probe the allegations. Action will be initiated against him if charges are proved against him”. Daloo spoke to Kashmir Horizon in reference to an order issued for the reinstatement of a medical officer Dr Masrat Yaqoob interestingly a nephew of incumbent CMO Budgam on the recommendation of a religious body namely “Jaffery Youth Welfare Committee Jowharpira Narbal Budgam”. According to order issued by the Chief Medical Officer Budgam, a copy of which is displayed above, the reinstatement of the Medical Officer has been ordered in reference to a representation not submitted by concerned medical officer but by the “Jaffery Youth Welfare Committee Jowharpira Narbal Budgam”bearing letter no Jyw/c/j-p.25;dated :22-09-2020. The Chief Medical Officer has not only reinstated the Medical Officer Masrat Yaqoob but also posted him at NTPHC Mazhama till further orders as desired by the “Jaffery Youth Welfare Committee Jowharpira Narbal Budgam”. As stated above Dr Masrat Yaqoob is the nephew of incumbent CMO Budgam Dr Tajamul Khan . Meanwhile sources told Kashmir Horizon that CMO Budgam has ordered some more controversial transfers. While Dr Reyaz actually posted at Kremshore has been deployed at SDH Khansahb, Dr Zaman has been posted as ZMO at Kremshore. Similarly Dr Yousuf has been posted as ZMO at Rayar. Though transfer orders are sufficient evidences to prove charges of sectarian bias against CMO Budgam but the Government has ordered a high level inquiry by Director Health Services Kashmir just to cool down rising tempers against CMO Budgam over his controversial conduct in the transfers of medical officers in the district.
