Qatli Hussain Asil Mein Margi Yazeed Hai,
Islam Zinda Hota Hai Har Karbala Ke Baid.
Shah Ast Hussain, Baadshah Ast Hussain.
Deen Ast Hussain, Deen Panah Ast Hussain.
Sar Daad Nadaadst, Dar Dast Yazeed.
Haqa Ki Binayi, Lailaha Ast Hussain.

Islamic year begins with the sacred month of Muharram. Every month of the Islamic year is having significant importance and profound significance but Holy Quran has mentioned specifically four months. These are Zeiqaida , Zulhaj , Rajab and Muharram. For centuries the sacred month of Muharram is specially considered a blessed one because of the great historical events which took place in Muharram. Prophet Noah(AS) found the resting place for his boat which was struggling for it in a terrible flood. It was in the month of Muharram. Prophet Musa( AS) attained the splendiferous victory over his strong rival called Ferown ( Phroah) in the month of Muharram. As per the teaching of prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) also, Muharram is the month of vast blessings. About this sacred month prophet (PBUH) says ” the best fasting after Ramdan is the fasting in the month of Muharram. On 10th Muharram 680 AD ( 61AH), the dearest grandsons of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were trampled by the army of Yazeed in the battle of Karbala and it is because of this great historical event , the month of Muharram has got great recognition. The tragedy of karbala has profound significance for all Muslims across the Muslim world. The karbala event is still fresh in the minds of Muslims even after hundreds of years when it took place. The battle of Karbala was actually a confrontation between justice and oppression and purely a courageous act of opposing falsehood, despotism and savagery. In this historical and most significant battle the family members of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) under the leadership of Imam Hussain (RA) preffered to lay down their lives rather than compromising on their scrupulous stand. In real sense they watered and rejuvenated the growing fields of Islam with their pious blood to maintain its pristine and to provide it everlasting liveliness. Hazrat Khwaja Moinudin Chisti(RA) the great sufi saint of India often reffered to as Sultani Hind has said ” Haqa Ke Binaye Laila Ast Hussain “__Hussain is the foundation of ‘ there is no God but Allah ‘– the fundamental of Islam.
On the surface, Yazeed and his army overpowered Hazrat Imam Hussain(R. A) but in history it is Hazrat Imam Hussain (R. A) who is remembered for his unflinching resolve and unwavering will.
Dr Iqbal the poet of the East while summarising the karbala event has said ” Mudda Yash Saltanate Boody Agar , Khud Na Harday Ba Chunin Samaan e Safar”__ means Imam Hussain’s only aim behind refusing to give allegiance to Yazeed was to uphold the truth and the glory of Islam. When the grandson of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) left Madina for Mecca, he was accompanied by some kiths and kins , including sisters and children with him. Some companions were in their 80’s. Had his intention been to rage a political war, he wouldn’t have taken such people with him. In a war like situation old men, women, a little baby of six months old ( Ali Asgar ) are not required at all , who were the part of caravan of Imam Hussain in the battlefield.
The message of Karbala is vivid and clear. The battle of Karbala was not meant to grab a patch of land, rather it was intended to secure and uphold core human values. It was a battle between good and evil, right and wrong and justice and oppression. The blazing sandy desert, the hot sizzling sun and the formidable army of Yazeed could not dampen the courage and spirit of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A). The heroic and valiant sacrifice of Imam (R. A) has no parallels in the known history of mankind. It teaches us when we are up against the evil forces, never to yield rather to stand our ground firmly and win. Without an ounce of doubt, the stellar sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) became an emblem of resistance to injustice, tyranny and oppression. On the surface, Yazeed and his army overpowered Hazrat Imam Hussain(R. A) but in history it is Hazrat Imam Hussain (R. A) who is remembered for his unflinching resolve and unwavering will. Indubitably, he came out triumphant and saved the religion which is the most favourite of Allah Almighty. Furthermore, we learn that the number of soldiers or standing army does not help win a battle rather it is the self-belief and self-righteousness which shapes the outcome.
Jiski Maa Fatima Jiska Naana Mohammed(saw),
Us Hussain Ibni Haider Pa Lakhoon Salaam.
May almighty Allah bestow us the power and strength to follow the teachings of Imam Hussain ( RA) and his comrades. Ameen….
