Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) has flayed the GOI for adopting double standards with people of J&K.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the JKPM President Feroze Peerzada alleged that while the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has decided to reserve government jobs for residents of MP only. On the other hand the GOI by abrogating Article 35 A opened up government jobs in J&K for non-residents. This shows the double standards of the government.
Madhya Pradesh government has recently declared that they will bring legislation so as to reserve government jobs for MP residents only. JKPM Vice President Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir said that with the decsion of MP Government has exposed the GOI before the people of J&K. “In August 2019 when the GOI abrogated Articles 370 and 35A, the youth of J&K were promised jobs and employment, ” he said adding “Quite contrary the unemployment rate in J&K has reached toxic levels and at the same time the already meagre government jobs available in J&K have been opened up for non-state subjects.”
He said that even in the private sector people have been laid off due to August 5 2019 clampdown and then due to Covid 19. The issue of daily wagers, contractual, PDD employees is still hanging despite the direct central rule for more than a year.
“Now what is their stand on the decision of MP Government. Where is their slogan of one country one nation”, Iqbal Tahir said in his statement.
