Jammu/Aug,7 : Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo Friday said that the video games addiction in current generation children is becoming a grave issue of concern that needs serious attention.
“Mobile games have more harmful effects than good. Playing video games frequently for more than several hours per day can negatively impact one’s overall health and lifestyle, and can lead to problems with one’s education, social relationships, mental health including crave for suicidal tendencies” Dr Tasaduk said while talking to Kashmir Horizon. He said that the mobile games addiction is rising among young children since mobile devices have made it easy for users to access thousands of games with just a few taps away. “It is very unfortunate to hear about the deaths occuring because of playing PUBG and other mind-conditioning video games that children are usually addicted to” he said.
He said that the impact of mobile games addiction on mind of current generation children has reached to such an extent that they are now denying to play outdoor games – that are good for mental, social and physical health. Calling the parents as best teachers for their children, he advised that parents need to get sensitive towards these issues and should refrain their children from frequently playing mind-conditioning video games to ensure their safety.
“Amid covid-19 pandemic, it is amicable that the young children should be allowed to take online classes under the constant vigil and guidance of their parents and should be encouraged to play outdoor games in the outside lawns of their home”, he added.
