Srinagar/Aug,6: In a major relief to almost 2800 J&K Bank employees – whose salary was withheld by the bank as per the direction of trial court passed by Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar – the bank Thursday released their earned salaries as per the directions from the J&K High Court.
Notably, the High Court in a plea heard by Justice Rajesh Bindal on August 4, 2020 directed the bank to release the earned salary of these employees. The direction to the bank for withholding salary was passed by Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar which applies to 2800 employees of the bank and aggrieved of this order the JK Bank Employees Union through its president has approached the Court challenging the order of trial court .
Earlier ACB has registered two FIRs against some officers of the under section 173 CrPc before the trial court. The trial court after considering the application of bank for release of seized documents, recorded that the bank shall strictly use the Xerox record for initiating departmental action and not use the record for facilitating the release of remuneration/increments or recording of APRs of the illegal appointees, “who otherwise are required to be disengaged forthwith and posts are re-advertised accordingly”. The petitioner-Union sought quashing of the direction and directed the bank to allow these employees to continue in their services and also to release their salary.
