Srinagar: Amid heightened security, the Darbar move offices formally re-opened on Monday in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
The reopening of move offices got delayed by nearly two months this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that claimed over 130 lives in the Union Territory so far.
For the first time in the last several decades, the government organized a traditional folk music event to welcome the annual Darbar move in Kashmir.
The folk music show was organized by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to revive the rich and old-aged cultural activity and attract dignitaries of Darbar move.
SMC’s Secretary General, Mohammad Akbar Sofi said that the folk music was organized by SMC to welcome the Darbar move officers and employees.
Pertinently, every year authorities organize inaugural functions on the annual Darbar move at the Civil Secretariat. But, this year due to the COVID threat authorities organized folk music event to welcome officers.
Unlike previous years, the media persons were not allowed inside the Civil Secretariat to cover the reopening of Darbar Move offices in Srinagar.
