Author has mentioned many poets of Dabistan-e-Delhi(A school in nineteenth century was established by an organisation of Urdu lovers named as Dabistan e Delhi) in a very good way. The Author has divided it into different eras. The sequence is as Mir Taqi Mir. Mir Dard and Mir Athar are followed by Mirza Ghalib, Zauq, Momin and Bahadur Shah Zafar etc.
Author has discussed well through this book the names of all those writers & organisations like J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages & also those personalities, who are burning midnight oil for progress of this language.
The Author has summarised some important poets of Capital. The prominent among them are Professor Sadiq, Shaber Rasool , Khalid Mehmood, Syedi , Muzafrul Hanfi , Ateequlla & Sageer Ibrahim etc. On children Author has good topic particularly children’s poetry, which is worth reading. Children’s Gazals most importantly. It is worthwhile to mention here that literature of various types on small children is being circulated except poetry on children has not been given much importance. Until & unless we provide good stories as well as quality literature, we can’t be successesful in attracting them towards formal education is a fact. Though Number of science-related newspapers and magazines that provide information on scientific information are already there, but for preserving cultural heritage , it is mandatory to deliver literature and good stories to children and it will be a great way to get children involved in conventional education. Hafiz Karnatki, Nazir Fatehpori , Firag Dehlivi have done a great work through their Gazals. The Author has summarised their services to the language.
In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Urdu literature has faced many difficulties. Now time has taken an ugly turn as the new generation is learning Urdu more for employment and less for language. Therefore, it is futile to hope for the promotion of Urdu language, but despite this, many eminent personalities in the state maintained its standard. Among the surviving fiction writers who have rendered immense service to the Urdu language are Noorshah, Wahshi Saeed, Ghulam Nabi, Shahid, Deepak Kanwal, Deepak Badri, Varinder Patwari, Ashok Patwari, Anand Lahar, Balraj Bakhshi and others. The book contains names of all such personalities.
Although a closer look at the current scenario of Urdu poetry in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation becomes clearer. The number of different Urdu poets in all three parts of the state has improved. During this period, the role of Professor Hamid Kashmiri has been very good. Various writers have sung ghazals. Fiction and have rendered many services in poetry and literature. Writers like Farooq Nazki Rafiq Raaz & Muzaffar Eraj have dedicated their lives to literature. And there are many others ,it would not be appropriate to write the names of all. We will apologize to them.
