Anantnag/June,7: Forest division Anantnag on Sunday seized a vehicle and arrested the driver alongwith 1 kg of dry Morchella esculeta. Well placed sources told Kashmir Horizon “on a Specific tip off received by DFO Anantnag,Feroz Ahmad Chaket a Naka was laid near Thajiwara Achabal in Anantnag district wherea vehicle bearing registration NO JK 03E /3288 WAGONR was intercepted and on checking the vehicle 11 kgs of dry Morchella esculenta ( Guchhies) approx worth Rs 1.80 lacs was siezed from one culprit namely Nissar Ahmad Thokar Son of Abdul Khaliq” .
Accused was arrested on spot and has been handed over to concerned police station. FIR has been lodged and vehicle along with seized stocks have been carted down to the seizure depot.DFO Anantnag Feroz Chaket confirmed that the vehicle was seized and the diver was arrested along with 11 kgs of dry Morchella esculenta ( Guchhies) approx worth Rs 1.80 lacs. Meanwhile, Chief conservator of Forests Farooq Ahmed Gillani and Conservator South Tawheed Ahamed Deva have appreciated this action by Anantnag Forest Division.
