The fallout of the Covid-19 crises is completely devastating, has shattered and shuttered all forms of social life whether it may be economical, social or educational.A phobia has been created by some miscreants and uneducated persons that people who are hailing from red zones have been treated insanely and inhumanely ways. Most importantly the patients who are visiting regularly to the hospitals especially pregnant ladies for treatment or medical check up,are not accepted by doctors in anyway and even refuse to lend an ear to their miseries and worries that has crippled their life more and more. One such incident took place before few days when no doctor agreed to treat a pregnant lady namely Sheeraza Jan,wife of Mohammad Amin Sheikh, resident of Kandagund Shangus, Anantnag a red Zone, the time when she was suffering from severe labour pain and was referred unnecessarily to different hospitals throughout the day. This doesn’t happen once or twice but it happened number of times and even few pregnant ladies died due to foolish and negligent act by doctors and medical staff. An act of inconvenience and agony faced by pregnant lady amid Covid-19 pandemic is highly condemnable. In this painful situation whom to blame as quite evident fact is that humanity has lost its respect and priority. This situation has developed after number of pregnant ladies tested positive and quarantined in different hospitals . The spread of fear and phobia among doctors prompted them to refuse treating these hapless patients. The serious issue which hurts people is that a lady after developing severe labour pain was rejected by the doctors, refused to attend her and saying that she hails from a red Zone. They produced Covid free certificate as well but still doctors didn’t bother to treat her and forcibly she had to wait for hours in and out of different hospitals but no body cared. As moving to another hospital an ambulance driver has dropped them at Trauma hospital Bijbehara instead at SDH Bijbehara and they got shocked and dumbfounded.
Since ages doctors are dedicating their lives to the cause of public health by providing medicare facilities to all those who are in need and the impact of treating or saving the life of a patient is the greatest reward to doctor as he/she has the ability to heal the wounds and inspire people to live their lives.
The pregnant lady was writhing with severe pain outside on rgw road crying for help but nobody dared to offer her any kind of help. Later they sought help from a local driver, and some how they reached LD hospital Srinagar at around 9.00 P.M and she gave birth to a baby boy. Now question arises here how can these ‘inhuman’ doctors posted in hospitals devoid of any sympathy and mercy adding miseries and sufferings more and more to the worry of patients be expected to further the causes of the delivery of health services in Kashmir. Forcing unnecessary referrals is sheer negligence which is humiliating and insulting for the pregnant lady, hailing from a red-zone. Doctor’s profession is a real service to humanity. Since ages doctors are dedicating their lives to the cause of public health by providing medicare facilities to all those who are in need and the impact of treating or saving the life of a patient is the greatest reward to doctor as he/she has the ability to heal the wounds and inspire people to live their lives. Amid COVID-19, crises have been created all over the world but it is an obligation for each and every doctor to take care of patients especially serious cases of maternity. If they give up the responsibility, then who is going to treat patients in a situation where none but only doctors are helping hands of humanity. So this profession is of great value as it makes the way easy to get the highest place and reward in hereafter life.
