Pune: With the Southwest Monsoon advancing into some expanse of south Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea, conditions are favourable for further advance of SW Monsoon into some more stretches of south Bay of Bengal, remaining chunks of Andaman Sea and Andaman Islands during next 48 hours, forecast the India Meteorological Department today.
It warned that gale wind (with speed reaching up to 95-105 km per hour and gusting up to 115 kmph) is likely to blow over southeast & adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.
As squally wind (speed reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting up to 65 kmph) is likely over Andaman Sea, sea condition will be very high over south & adjoining central Bay of Bengal and it will become phenomenal over southern parts of central Bay of Bengal from tonight, hence fishermen should not venture into these areas during the period.
Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal & south Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Kerala and Mahe during the period.
Thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph), is likely at isolated tracts over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the period.

Duststorm or thunderstorm, accompanied with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph), is very likely at isolated locations over Rajasthan during the period.
Rain or thundershowers had pounded most sections in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Lakshadweep during past 24 hours.
They had battered many zones in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, as well a few portions in Nagaland, Manipur Mizoram, Tripura, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana during the period.
Isolated slices in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala also received the rains during the period.
Thunderstorm had occurred at isolated segments over Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during the period.
Dry weather prevailed over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa during the period.
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
They were above par in some sectors of Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jammu & Kashmir, west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha as well in remaining nooks of Gujarat.
Day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some locales of Assam and Meghalaya.
They were below par in some quarters of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and coastal Andhra Pradesh as well in remaining sites of Assam, Meghalaya, Vidarbha and Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 44.6 degree Celsius was reported at Jalgaon (Madhya Maharashtra).
