Jammu/May,17:A soldier and a militant were on Sunday killed in the ongoing encounter between militants and the government forces in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Sunday, officials said.
The encounter started when government forces launched a joint operation in Posta-Potra village in Gundana area, 26 km from Doda town, following information about presence of some militants.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the area and further details are awaited, the officials said.
The militant killed in the encounter was identified as Tahir, alias Uqaab, a resident of Pulwama district.
