Srinagar: Pulse bag quota of Kashmir reduced by Jammu officials by offloading the quota and upload it in a reduced quantity has triggered a row which stands resolved with an assurance from the administrative department that the Kashmir quota would be directly transported to Srinagar without it’s offloading in Jammu or any other place in between Delhi and Srinagar.
Informed sources told Kashmir Horizon “the quota of pulse bags meant for Kashmir is also being offloaded along with Jammu quota in Jammu and the quota meant for Kashmir is loaded in truck again but in a reduced quantity for transportation to Srinagar”, adding that “extra labour charges are paid for offloading at Jammu and reloading in Jammu again for Srinagar puts an extra burden on the state exchequer”. The tech savy Secretary Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) always busy with his mobile could not be contacts as his mobile phone was found placed on busy mode. However Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Kashmir Bashir Ahmad Khan told Kashmir Horizon “I have taken up the issue with the administrative department. The concerned additional secretary and Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu have assured me that now Kashmir quota of pulses will be transported directly to Srinagar and won’t be offloaded and reloaded in Jammu hereafter”.
