Budgam, Sep 27: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Saturday reviewed the security and crime situation in Budgam district and directed officers to strengthen the security grid and preventive policing measures.
Kumar chaired a security and crime review meeting at District Police Headquarters, Budgam, which was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Omparkash Pande, SSP Budgam Hariprasad K K and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, the IGP reviewed the overall security situation, crime scenario, security arrangements, crime prevention measures, investigation of cases and ongoing police operations in the district.
He stressed the need for close coordination among field formations and timely and effective action against criminal and anti-social elements, officials said.
Kumar also called for enhanced preventive measures and heightened vigilance to maintain peace, security and public safety in the district.
SSP Budgam briefed the IGP about the prevailing security and crime situation and apprised him of measures being undertaken to strengthen policing, security arrangements and public safety, officials said.(KNS)
