Srinagar: Former President Employees Joint Action Committee and Civil Society leader Abdul Qayoom Wani on Thursday censured Jammu and Kashmir Bank for violation of RBI guidelines on deduction of interest from the loan accounts amid ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Wani said that violating RBI guideline by deducting interest from the loan accounts is unfortunate and power arrogance of JK bank authorities. Saying that ” Kashmri business community and people connected with the trade related activities have suffered a lot and lockdown has increased their miseries, Wani said” instead of giving them incentive for rehabilitation they are being put to more mental distress”. Questioning bank authorities should that is it possible for a business man or any trader to pay interest when whole world is under lockdown in view of covid 19 pandemic spread Wani said “people of JK have a great contribution for making this bank a reputed institution and it must be the moral obligation of the bank authorities to feel the pain of people Jammu and Kashmir at difficult times and take care of the interests common people” .
