DC Shopian visits red zone village of Heerpora, asks docs to gear-up

Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin, Friday visited Heerpora village of Shopian district, which has been declared a red zone area to take stock of the arrangements put in place for providing every possible health care facilities to the Covid-19 positive patients of the area.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said there are 44 positive cases of Covid-19 in the Shopian district out of which 38 positive cases have been detected in village Heerpora alone .A team of doctors village is testing the people of the area and 400 samples have been taken in till date.
The DC directed the Health functionaries to work with added zeal, zest and dedication to provide every possible help to the people. He interacted with the people of the village and gave them a patient hearing assuring them that district administration is fully prepared to provide health care facilities to the people. He appealed for people’s cooperation in this regard so that district administration is able to cater their needs, at their doorsteps. He directed Municipal Committee Shopian, present on the occasion to ensure intensive fumigation, spray and sanitization of the Heerpora village for containment of the virus .He urged the locals to remain indoors and not to move out of their homes, un-necessarily for the safety of their health and family. He stressed them to adhere to the advisories issued by district administration and health department from time to time in letter and spirit. He said district administration is keeping close vigil and is monitoring the situation round the clock.
The people of the area apprised the DC about their basic necessities including rice, LPG, Kerosene oil and sugar in view of the commencement of holy month of Ramadan.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that all the essential commodities will be provided to then at their doorstep, at an earliest.
Besides, the DC was informed that 75 cases of Covid-19 have been isolated and quarantined out of which 11 cases have recovered after treatment. A team of concerned civil and police officers were accompanying the DC.
