Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, Friday handed over 13,500 cotton masks (reusable) to the Municipal Councilors for further distribution among AAY, PHH beneficiaries in urban areas of the district Ganderbal.
On the occasion the DC said the District Administration has distributed around 2 lakh masks in the district through PRIs including 1.5 lakh free masks in Rural areas among AAY and PHH beneficiaries at their door steps.
In compliance to government order for universal usage of masks, the DC said, to cover the whole population of the district, various entrepreneurs have been roped in including District Industrial Unit, KVIB, various local entrepreneurs and self-help groups (SHGs) of NRLM for the production and stitching of the masks besides distribution mechanism has also been formulated to cover entire population of the district.
