Srinagar: A store keeper of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department (FCS&CA) was on Friday beaten up by police at Jammu & Kashmir Branch Kralpora as he was stepping out from the bank after deposition cash for the ration taken by the employees at the doorsteps of consumer.
An official while confirming the incident said that the storekeeper was ruthlessly beaten by cops without any rhyme or reason as he was coming out from J&K Bank Kralpora after depositing the cash which was collected by him from consumer after dropping the ration at their door steps, adding that , his vehicle was also seized. In a similar incident another storekeeper was beaten up by cops in Kulgam district and his motor bike was also damaged. When contacted Director FCS&CA Kashmir Bashir Ahmad Khan told Kashmir Horizon “I have already taken up the matter with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and top police authorities who has assured that identity cards of the store keepers of FCS&CA department deployed for home delivery of ration will be treated as curfew passes but so for the government has not issued any formal order for implementation by police”
