Mushtaq Hurra
A heart wrenching picture from Chowkibal Kupwara is making rounds on different social media platforms. A mother is crying with her 8 year old dead son in her lap. The hapless mother is cursing the contractors of humanity on either sides of Indo-Pak border for their callousness and insensitivity. Her cries are enough to pierce the skies but the deaf politicians of subcontinent are probably living in such tall skyscrapers which don’t allow these cries to resonate in their rooms. They are beating the rhetoric of provocation and retaliation. These border Skirmishes have turned the lives of commoners residing on either side of border to virtual hell. The people guarding the border, very often resort to indiscriminate exchange of fire, bothering least about the civilian populace which is the ultimate victim of all this bizarre exhibition of military might. The ambitious approach of the two nuclear neighbors of South East Asia is posing threats to regional and international peace. Today, we can’t blame UNO for its silence because UNO and its different organizations have specific priorities. When humanity is going through a crisis of high magnitude, when the whole world is battling a deadly pandemic which is about to sweep away the human existence from the planet earth, the two ambitious nations of South East Asia viz India and Pakistan are busy in displaying their unruly might at borders in Kupwara sector. People are back broken with divine wrath of COVID19, and the power hungry and tyrannical rulers have added to the woes of these poor and indigent people. Who will tell these blind fuhrers that the poor border inmates are craving for few morsels of food? Amid the lockdown, their pockets have dried up. They have emptied the piggy banks of their children. They have sold the jewelleries of their spouses to arrange rice and Roti in their homes. Their children are repeatedly asking their mothers for a plate full of rice. If you can’t satiate their bellies with food, yet, for God’s sake, don’t shower bullets and bombs on them. The cauldrons on their Chulhas are empty. And you have started to destroy their abodes and snatching their dear ones from their laps.I challenge you to use your huge militaries, nuclear weapons and other ammunition to destroy the virus. No, you can’t, you can only emptize the laps of mothers, you only orphan the young children, and you can only widow young brides. The ambition, greed and avarice have blind folded your eyes to see the miseries of your own people. Now, have some mercy on us. We have suffered a lot to your cockfighting. We have been shouldering the coffins of our children since you attained your freedom. What is our fault? Why are you punishing us for none of our sins? The tears of innocents will sink your boats but it will take time. Mend your ways or get ready to face the heavenly wrath.I pity your hypocritical approach. On the one hand, you brag big about democracy and human rights, but, on the other side, you put humanity to hardships and injuries. You don’t value basic rights of commoners. Life is the gift of Almighty Allah, and you have no right to snatch it from people. Stop this bloodshed, stop this mayhem. Your summits, protocols, treaties and pacts are mere eyewashes for commoners to befool them. You are always grinding your own axes at the cost of innocents. You can go to any extent to fulfill your egoes. I wonder, if we are free. Slavery is no more but we are still in chains. We are tormented, tortured and treated as cattle. You butcher us when it suffices your egos.
You should have been devising strategies to overcome the academic losses, our children have undergone. You should have been looking to arrange smart phones and other gadgets to the poor and needy students so that educational losses could have been reduced and minimized. But, no, you are intellectually deficient.
Dear politicians of subcontinent, do you know that big chunks of your populace sans basic amenities like food, shelter and clothing. Here, I will not talk about education and healthcare. Here, I just want you to let us live at all. Your atom bombs can’t feed us. We need food not bombs and bullets. You should have shunned your egos to help your people that too during these difficult times when people are hardly able to lit their Chulhas. You should have taken a pledge to help each other during these difficult times. But, you have some other plans. Have you forgotten the wrath of Almighty? When He will trample you under His clutches, no one will come to your rescue, then. Your power and might will vanish in the blink of an eye. Fear God, you are accountable to Him for your deeds. Look at the superpowers of the world. They have knelt down. Now, it is your turn. Your glory will turn to rust if you don’t stick to ethics of basic human ethos and rules. Let you shun this ambitious politics. It will take you nowhere. Do you remember, COVID 19 pandemic has perished your economies. You have become virtual paupers. You are now at the mercy of a few people who donate generously to help you to run your countries, otherwise, we know that our state exchequers are empty. You must have been in touch with economists to restore and safeguard the economies from further dip. But, no, you are hellbent to prove your military might, to incite pains and injuries on innocents. History is witness to the fact that huge militaries and sophisticated weapons have not done any good to nations. It has brought miseries, pains and destruction only. The monster of time engulfed people like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, razed their glories to dust, and you are comparatively specks of dust. Future generations are turning to be ignoramus. The pandemic has deprived our children of their educational opportunities. You should have been devising strategies to overcome the academic losses, our children have undergone. You should have been looking to arrange smart phones and other gadgets to the poor and needy students so that educational losses could have been reduced and minimized. But, no, you are intellectually deficient. How can you think on those lines? Now, believe me, the world is spitting at you for your foolish and buffoonish acts. The world will not come forward for your arbitration because it is combating the pandemic; so, change your mindsets and ideologies if you have to survive at all.
