Distt Admin Kupwara distributes food items among 1511 migrant workers

Kupwara: Continuing its efforts to provide essential commodities to the migrant workers, the District Administration Kupwara distributed food items among 1511 migrant workers at their doorsteps.
Each group of five laborers were provided essential food items including 10 kg rice, 500 grams tea, 1Kg dal, 500 grams milk powder, ½ Kg sugar,1/2 Kg salt, 500 ml edible oil and LPG during the lockdown period.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg has designated Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Arshad Qadir Bhat, Nodal Officer to facilitate migrant labours in the district.
The Nodal officer informed that the district administration has identified 1559 workers and has distributed essential commodities among 1511 workers. He said the distribution process is carried across the district including in far flung areas of Karnah and Tangdar.
Sharing details the Assistant Labour Commissioner said out of 1559 migrant laborers identified in the district 203 are stranded in Kupwara, 30 at Villgam, 454 at Handwara and Chotipora, 41 at Zachaldara , 20 at Halmatpora, 30 at Braripora, 20 at Krusan, 8 at Langate, 25 at Unisoo, 12 atQalamabad, 9 at Doniwari, 10 at Khurhama&Lalpora, 52 at Salkoot, 5 at Zangli, 102 at Batergam, 29 at Qaziabad&Kralgund, 14 at Kralpora, 104 at Tarathpora, 31 at Trehgam, 8 at Guloora , 8 at Gulgam, 10 at Satkooji, Rajwar, 35 at Kulangam, 182 at Karnah and Tanghdar, 10 at Drugmulla, 74 at Sogam, 11 at Anderhama, 8 at Natnoosa, 11 at Magam and Devsar and 3 at Kandi-Khas.
Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner directed the designated Nodal officers to work with added dedication and facilitate general public and stranded laborers. He also stressed for maintaining social distance among laborers.
