The Library and Information Center or Learning Resource Center has been currently changing from its conventional set up to the automated and computerized library framework. A few libraries are still in the period of progress from customary to modernized libraries, the approaches and criteria for collection advancement of learning assets have been changing quickly since most recent couple of decades. There has been change in perspective in the collection improvement arrangements for getting printed just as e-assets (both off-line and on-line assets). So in this manner, there is requirement for drafting the new approaches for obliging electronic assets in the library collection. There ought to be balance between the printed and e-versions for procuring in the libraries according to the interest of the end clients. Now due to changing trends of electronic publishing, many online and offline resources are being published as these resources have great demand from the libraries and users community. The e-assets like digital books and e-diaries are famous among the end clients for their scholastic and research exercises. Web and www makes e-distributing workable for association and distribution of e-resources. The idea of Electronic resources is viewed as the mines of data that are investigated through present day ICT gadgets, refined and updated and all the more regularly put away in the internet in the most concrete and compact shape and can be gotten to at the same time from endless focuses by an extraordinary number of audience. In the evolving situation, libraries and librarians should assume a significant job in dealing with conventional and electronic resources.
the emerging trends of e-resources in terms of its needs, advantages, disadvantages, its format, the subscription policies, collection development criteria, policies and guidelines, and consortia approach for accessing to digital/ e-resources in any academic and technical libraries should be considered for effective and optimum utilization of e-resources by the academic community for research and development activities.
A definitive objective of electronic distributing is to give quick and simple access to the data contained in the target productions with basic, amazing inquiry and recovery capacities. In the current time, data and correspondence innovation is developing in such manner that it isn’t possible for customary library framework to give data at a speed practically identical to e-resources. The present libraries have not quite recently stayed as the customary libraries; rather they have formed into an Information Center’s which are gathering, arranging electronic learning assets/computerized articles to give access to the end clients. In present modern days, more assets are accessible in electronic configurations. Thus, to keep pace with changing conditions, the libraries ought to incorporate e-resources on collection improvement approach. E-Resource building is another pattern in the data world. It has created a ton of discussion over its entrance, stockpiling, association, Copyright and so on. It is as yet advancing and the future will choose its shape, whereupon the eventual fate of the libraries additionally depends. The important goal of each library is to provide correct, updated and authentic information to the users, by adopting the e-resource acquisition policy successfully. Therefore, the emerging trends of e-resources in terms of its needs, advantages, disadvantages, its format, the subscription policies, collection development criteria, policies and guidelines, and consortia approach for accessing to digital/ e-resources in any academic and technical libraries should be considered for effective and optimum utilization of e-resources by the academic community for research and development activities.
