Mir Mukhtar Ahmad
On the motion of thanks to presidential address, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad strongly demanded that the Centre should immediately come with a Bill to revert Jammu & Kashmir’s status of full statehood. While going through the big claims of BJP government, that Article 370 was a barrier in the overall development of Jammu & Kashmir state, he clearly refuted the allegations of the government by presenting a report on these false allegations. The comparison is based on the government documents published in 2016-17. State of J&K was better governed than Gujarat and then questioned the Centre’s intent in abrogating special provisions under Article 370 of the Constitution and reorganising the state into two Union Territories. Centre misled the people about the importance of Article 370, the law which was guaranteed under the constitution of India. As per the RBI Handbook of 2019 out of 114 parameters of development were calculated, the then state of J& K was above the national average in 80 parameters in comparison with Gujarat & topping in 52 in whole country . Erstwhile state of j & k feared better on the issues of development, education, healthcare & other social issues in comparison with statistics of the country. State with special status has been known as “Crown of India” was bifurcated with the assertions of hitting the separatist camp, but in reality the innocent people of the state are heart. The decision of abrogating the special status has been taken in hurry & haste. None in the mainstream or separatist camp was approached neither in Kashmir nor in Jammu, before going for this hateful decision. NDA & it’s allies left no stone unturned in insulting the people of the erstwhile state of J & K, leadership and opposition. The leadership which has supported in instrument of accession of the accession of state with rest of India was treated like traitors. The general public associated with main Mainstream has been hit. Their sacrifice for safeguarding the democracy in the state has been disgraced. Hundreds of these civilian Muslims have been killed for standing up for India. The mainstream parties like NC, Congress, PDP & even BJP has lost thousands of workers during turmoil. The show of 4/5th August 2019 in parliament didn’t stop till its low in the history. MP from Ladakh insulted the official language of the state & stated that it was thrusted on the people of Ladakh. Called leader of the opposition that “Gala fad fad kar chila raha tha ki ye tarekh main kala din hai” The poor fellow doesn’t know the discipline of the parliament. None of his colleagues dear to stop his invalid & inappropriate remarks. Leader of the opposition has a feather in his Cap of being the All Round Best CM of the state. Thanks to Manish Tiwari, Shashi Tharoor, D Raja & K C Tiyagi who were more better & vibrant than our brigade of valley MP’s. Speech of Manish Tiwari was an eye opener to the NDA’s haste full decision, though the matter is Subjudicious & pending in Supreme Court yet GOI forgot the reports of three interlocutors of UPA, the one from NDA Dineshwar Sharma, the UNO establishment. Moreover the speech of real heir of state Dr Karan Singh, the Shimla, tashkant ,Agra Agreements & Lahore declarations are enough to prove the Issue of Kashmir alive& Finally, It will be solved as per the aspirations of the people of the state. Amit Shah & the party is claiming that state is developing but reality is that Kashmir’s business community of hoteliers, farmers, artisans, traders , tourism and industrial community is in the middle of Sea of debut & destruction. The longest spell of strikes & unrest right from beginning of turmoil has made our survival vulnerable despite that we have been possessive in rebating the loans & interests. Also maintaining the families & manage the things.
People are also taking a dig at the government for selling “false dreams at a time when the local business community is in distress, suffering crores of losses due to the communication shutdown imposed for months following the striking down of Article 370. Special Status is a covalent Bond but the central government is running away from the main issue.
Episode of 5th August can also be attributed to all those people , who are in politics. Our future generations will curse them. Our present situation is much different from the prose and poetry they are writing. Governments come and go. People in politics shouldn’t sell stories rather should focus on future strategy & course of action. Kashmir & it’s people have passed through the worst of the worst periods from last three centuries. Ups & down, atrocities, wars & appeasements all are part of history.Mughals & other Kings , Maharaja’s, Patidars, Nehru’s & Captilistis, Jagmohans, & Satyapals all have surrendered before this Holy Land of Sufi Saints. From Parthasarthy to Dineshwar Sharma all is recorded. What Abdullah’s are facing is their own historic error & now they have got an opportunity to stand with their people & to erase their past mistakes. Mufti’s were always following wavering paths to remain in the power corridors. They have drawn last nail by surrender & bowing before Union govts. Regional parties must understand the situation & should fight for the peaceful solution. The best way to deal the state is to rusticate, selfish people, criminals & illiterates from political positions.
