Srinagar: Police on Monday claimed to have registered formal cases against three students for concealing their travel history to evade necessary quarantine process.
A police official said information was received from the magistrate that two persons of Awantipora area have concealed their travel history in order to evade necessary quarantine process, a case FIR No. 35/2020 u/s 188,270,271 has been registered against them at Police Station Awantipora.”
“These booked persons are students and have recently returned to village Charsoo and village Goripora of Awantipora with a travel history of Pakistan and Bangladesh,” said the spokesman.
“They have been sent to EDI Pampore to undergo necessary quarantine and further action under the said FIR shall be initiated after their quarantine period is over,” he said.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said that one more student was booked in Ganderbal for concealing their travel history. He said the booked student had arrived from Bangaldesh recently and had gone to hiding.
He said that the said student has been booked under section 271, 188 IPC.
Meanwhile, Police appealed the general public to cooperate with administration in this unprecedented situation and proactively disclose the travel history, if any.”
