Back to Village Prog: Training progs held across Jammu divn

Jammu: As a sequel to the implementation of grand initiative of reaching out to people at grassroots level through ‘Back to the Village’, a series of training programs were organised by the respective district administerations across Jammu division here Monday.

The program, which is being organized from June 20 to June 27 across all Panchayats of the state, will focus on energizing Panchayats, collecting feedback on delivery of government programs, capturing specific economic potential and undertaking assessment of needs of the villages besides affording an opportunity to Gazetted officers to visit the villages and directly getting a feedback from people. The program is primarily aimed at energizing the over 7000 villages, 4483 Panchayats and directing development efforts in rural areas through community participation and to create in the rural masses an earnest desire for decent standard of living.

At Udhampur, the district administration organised a training program under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Gurvinderjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Neelam Khajuria, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia besides other district officers of different departments were present in the program.

Singla stressed upon the officers to work with utmost sincerity and dedication for effective implementation of this innovative program which targets further strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions.

Master Trainers PO IMWP, Sapna Kotwal and District Treasury Officer, Dr. Lokesh Gupta briefed the officers about the minute details of the program through power point presentation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Piyush Singla convened a press conference regarding the program and informed that all the 236 panchayats of the district would be covered under the initiative. He revealed that for wide publicity and participation this program is being initiated under local parlance “CHALO CHALCHE GRIAN, KARCHE SARE KANNE SALHA” in the district. He termed the role of Media as of utmost importance in achieving success towards implementation of such pro-people initiatives of the government.

The DDC urged upon the media fraternity to extend their cooperation in ensuring wide publicity to this program for optimum outcome.

At Samba, Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, chaired the sensitization session held for the District Officers regarding ‘Back to Village’ program.

She sensitized the officers and officials regarding the essence of the program and necessary preparations required to be made for its successful implementation. She directed the participants to sensitize the team of officials at panchayat level and to chalk out the activities to be undertaken during the program.

Assistant Commissioner (Development) ML Tasir and District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra gave detailed information regarding various facets of the ‘Back to Village’ program to the participants.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, and other senior officers were on the occasion.

At Kishtwar, in order to acquaint the  Gazetted officers of the district regarding “Back to Village”  program, a training program was organised under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana.

Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishtwar, Joint Director Planning, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Paddar and Marwah, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, besides concerned district officers, Master Trainers were present during training program.

The DDC instructed the concerned to give wide publicity to the program so that rural poor are benefitted to the optimum.  He asked the functionaries of RDD to ensure maximum  people participate in gram Sabhas besides constituting social audit teams during the visit of gazatted officer under the said program.

The Master Trainer, Pardeep Koul and others briefied the participants about the activities that shall be undertaken during implementation of the program at Panchayat level collectively by the officers and PRIs.

At Doda, District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, convened an interactive meet with the officers regarding implementation of the program.

ADDC, ADC, ACD besides other concerned district officers were present on occasion.

During the meeting, the DDC sensitized the officers about the objective of the program and the necessary preparations required to be made for its successful implementation. He enjoined upon the officers of the department to ensure proper planning as well as execution of the program.

DC informed about the Shramdan (Community Participation) initiative under which a work has to be taken up in a particular Panchayat which will have a communitarian benefits that can be inaugurated by the Visiting officer and can be completed within the stipulated time frame of two days with the help of collective efforts of the panchayat.

During the week-long program, the Rural Development Department will showcase some of its achievements by inaugurating the recently developed playfields and other works through the visiting officers. Besides Gram Sabhas will be organised at halqa level which will be participated by the visiting officer.

At Ramban, Deputy Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, briefed the media about the objective of the   “Back to Village” program.

The DDC said that the initiative envisages further strengthening of Panchayats at grass root level thus ensuring rapid development in rural parts of the state. He informed that different departments shall organise Melas during the program to create awareness among the public about the schemes being implemented by their respective departments.

He made a fervent appeal to the media persons to ensure adequate publicity to this ambitious program so that maximum people are benefitted.
